Notice to Escalante Valley District and Dixie Districts 1B and 2A Members
Purpose: Jeff Watson from Dixie District 1B, Robyn Serage from Dixie District 2A, and Mike Brown from the Escalante Valley District are up for re-election.
Petition Deadline: April 3rd at 4:00 PM, 2026
Qualifying members interested in serving on the Board should submit a petition pursuant to the Bylaws, Article IV excerpts from sections D & E as outlined below:
D. Qualifications
No person shall be eligible to become or remain a director of the Cooperative who:
(a) is not a member and consumer of the Cooperative;
(b) is in any way employed by or financially interested in a competing enterprise or a business selling electric energy or supplies to the Cooperative, or a business primarily engaged in selling electrical or plumbing appliances, fixtures or supplies to the members of the Cooperative; or
(c) has been employed with the Cooperative within the last three years.
E. Nominations for Directors
Members shall nominate individuals to run for election for any Director District for which members are scheduled to vote at any Member Meeting (“Nominations”). Members make Nominations by delivering to the Secretary at least sixty (60 days, prior to the Member Meeting in writing for each Nomination (“Member Petition”):
1. Listing the name and electric service address of the candidate;
2. Indicating the Director District for which the candidate will run; and
3. Containing the printed names and addresses, and original signatures, of at least fifteen (15) Members of the same Director District as the candidate. No Member may sign more than one (1) Member Petition.
After verifying that a Member Petition complies with the qualification section of the Bylaws, the Cooperative shall post the Nominations by Director District at the Cooperative’s principal office.
The Secretary shall mail with the notice of the meeting, or separately but at least ten (10) days before the date of the meeting, a statement of the number of directors to be elected, the particular districts involved, and the names of the candidates. The names of candidates by petition by fifteen (15) or more members shall be placed on the ballot.
In the event the nominating process results in only one (1) nominee for the position of director, such nominee shall be deemed elected by the members of the district without the necessity of a subsequent election at an annual or special meeting of the members.
